Light up the night and walk in memory of your loved ones.

Our Midnight Walk is back for 2025! Join us in lighting up the streets of Redcar and Marske with your friends and family, while raising money in memory of your loved ones for Teesside Hospice.

After raising an amazing £80,000 in 2024 with over 700 walkers, we’re ready to make this year’s walk even more impactful and fun. Who will you walk for this year?

Our mission is to help families make the most of every day, creating lasting memories and experiences. By walking 11km through Redcar and Marske in the middle of the night, you’ll be helping create more memories for those living with a life limiting illness in Teesside.

Why your support matters

Teesside Hospice exists to support people living with a terminal illness, helping them live as well as possible, for as long as possible. It costs £6 million annually to run our services – that’s almost £17,000 every 24 hours.

At last year’s Midnight Walk, the average sponsorship raised by our participants was £100.

Although there's no minimum sponsorship required, we're aiming to raise £100,000 this year.

Your support ensures that people in Teesside can die with dignity and live well for as long as possible, surrounded by the best care.

Here’s all you need to know!

When
Saturday 22nd March 2025, registrations open at 8pm, and we ask that all participants arrive no later than 9:30pm, to ensure you are registered on time. Our Teesside Hospice staff and volunteers will be here to sign you in. Here, you’ll be able to register, collect your T-Shirt and flashing head boppers, drop off any sponsorship money and enjoy our tuckshop and entertainment while getting hyped up for your walk!

Where
11km along the seafront from Redcar to Marske and back!

Warm Up
To get everyone hyped up for the walk, we’ll be leading a fun and energetic warm up to prepare you for the walk ahead.

What to Wear
Your ticket includes a remembrance Midnight Walk T-Shirt (with space for you to add a dedication for your loved ones), as well as a pair of flashing head boppers!

As we're walking along the seafront, please wrap up warm and wear suitable footwear.

Each year our Midnight Walk grows with enthusiasm and energy to add an extra sparkle to the streets of Redcar and Marske, so why not your outfits too? Be bold, bright and colourful, helping us light the way this year. There will be a prize on the night for the best dressed!

If you want to dress up in fancy dress, go for it – it’s your night and we want you to have fun! Nothing is too much (we'll bring the glitter!)

Once you've completed your walk

The route will lead you back to where you started your walk, where you'll be asked to sign out. Here, you'll be able to collect your finishers medal and warm up with your complementary hot food and drink.

Volunteer at our Midnight Walk!

If you want to be a part of Midnight Walk but aren't able to walk, why not help us by volunteering on the night? As a charity, Teesside Hospice relies on amazing volunteers to help to make our Midnight Walk a successful and safe event for everyone involved.

Whether you help out at registrations, be a marshall along the walking route, distribute T-Shirts or be our on-site glitter fairy, every little helps!

If you would like to volunteer at this years Midnight Walk, email volunteering@teessidehospice.co.uk or call our team on 01642 811145

Thank you, we can't wait to walk with you and see the path that you light up in your loved ones memory
